Photographer in Charleston, Illinois.
From EIU faculty headshots to growing Charleston families, we regularly photograph across Morton Park, the courthouse square, and the country roads out toward Lincoln Log Cabin.
About 15 minutes east of the studio.
Boutique portrait photography for Charleston
Charleston sits fifteen minutes from our Mattoon studio, and it is one of the towns we photograph most. Eastern Illinois University brings a steady stream of faculty headshots, graduate portraits, and departmental photography, while Charleston's neighborhoods keep us busy with family portraits, maternity commissions, and lifestyle sessions for couples and seniors. Whatever the session type, the approach is the same: a real consultation first, an unhurried session second, and finished wall art at the end.
The town gives us an unusual range of backdrops within a few blocks. The courthouse square offers brick, columns, and shade for editorial portraits. Morton Park has mature trees and open lawn that photograph beautifully in late-day light. Out toward Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, split-rail fences, prairie grass, and timber give family sessions a quiet, timeless character that suits large framed pieces particularly well.
Charleston clients often tell us they've had photos taken before but never anything they actually printed. That is the gap we exist to close. Every Charleston commission includes a design consultation where we lay out proofs at real size, measure your wall if needed, and help you choose between framed prints, canvas, and album formats so the work ends up somewhere you see it every day.
What we photograph in Charleston
EIU & Professional Headshots
Faculty, staff, graduate students, and Charleston professionals who need a polished, current headshot. We can photograph on campus, in your office, or in our studio with consistent lighting for whole departments and teams.
Family Portraits in Charleston
Morton Park and the Lincoln Log Cabin area are our favorite Charleston family locations, especially from late September through October when the timber turns.
Senior & Lifestyle Sessions
Charleston High School and EIU seniors get a mix of downtown-square editorial frames and softer natural-light portraits — enough variety for a framed piece plus gift prints for family.
Maternity Portraits
Studio gown work in Mattoon paired with an outdoor Charleston set. Most mothers book in the third trimester and finish with a framed piece for the nursery or hallway.
Couples & Engagement
Relaxed, warm sessions around the square or in the timber — designed to produce artwork rather than a folder of digital files.
