Effingham is a half-hour drive south, and it has become one of our steadiest service areas. The city's business community — healthcare, logistics, manufacturing, banking, and a deep bench of family-owned firms — keeps us photographing executive headshots and team portraits, while Effingham families come to us for maternity, newborn-adjacent portrait work, and multi-generation sessions that end in a large framed piece.

For location work, downtown Effingham gives clean architecture and warm brick, Community Park provides shade and lawn for family groups, and Lake Sara offers open water and long light for lifestyle and maternity sessions in the evening. When weather or schedules don't cooperate, Effingham clients simply come north to our Mattoon studio, where lighting and backdrops are entirely under our control.

Our process doesn't change with the drive. Effingham commissions start with a consultation — in person or by phone — where we talk through the people involved, the wardrobe, and most importantly where the finished artwork is going to live. Then we photograph, retouch by hand, and present a curated set of images at a design appointment so you leave with a decision made rather than a hard drive full of files.
